Welcome

Many elderly and low income homeowners within the City of Austin struggle to pay their utility bills, and often, those bills are a disproportionate amount of their income. Typically their homes are inefficient with regard to resources such as energy and water. These homes can contain outdated appliances and HVAC systems and they are not properly sealed and insulated. Toilets, faucets, and related appliances often leak and consume large volumes of water. These problems cost the residents money and reduce their quality of life. Furthermore, the inefficiencies strain energy and water resources and contribute to pollution. As energy and water costs continue to increase, the problem will worsen.

How It Works

Register to attend our 2008 Fundraiser October 11th!

A Nurtured World is hosting its first annual fundraiser for the Rays of Hope project.

October 11, 2008 will be our first annual fundraiser for the Rays of Hope (formerly 1 House at at Time) project. The fundraising event will be held in coordination with Mike and Marcel's 8th Annual Fish Cook-off. The event will include live music, lots of amazing seafood and good ol'fashioned barbecue brisket as well as a silent auction. We are asking for a donation to the project of $15 or more per adult attending the dinner (Kids under 12 are not considered adults and pizza will be provided for them by our Kids Food Sponsor - Southside Flying Pizza!). ALL DONATIONS ARE FULLY TAX DEDUCTIBLE AND RECEIPTS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR TAX PURPOSES. You can register now to attend and donate online at the link below.
